DAFFODILS

April 29th, 2008 admin

I’ve just returned from a trip to Yorkshire where I was part of a panel discussion on documentary photography (entitled Dramatic Reality: Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Today) at the National Media Museum. While I was in the region I took in the Harrogate Spring Flower Festival and a medieval siege at Scarborough Castle. April showers and a hail storm, didn’t deter the thousands who turned up at the flower festival. Not being the green fingered type I was astonished to discover, during the judging of the daffodil contest, that there are over 40,000 varieties of this spring flower! Congratulations to Colin Gilman from Norwich for his ‘Inverpolly’ daffodil which was crowned the ‘Grand Champion Bloom’.

Here are just a few….!
